Personal Development (PD) FAQs

  • First you will need to fill out the brief intake form on the Services page so you can schedule your free 15-minute consult. This is done so you and your coach can chat and see if you are a good fit before you commit to full sessions.

After this is done, you and your coach will work together to find what time works best for your sessions moving forward. All sessions are scheduled, including text sessions. You will also discuss your preferred method of payment (via invoice or Venmo).

Once dates are set, your coach will send you an Informed Consent Form for services. You will need to review this form in depth and come to your coach with any questions you may have prior to your first session. Your payment for services is your signature for consent.

If you would like to share any documents, your coach can set you up with a Google Drive folder for you.

After that it’s just waiting until your session comes!

  • Yes. If you are not seeking an assessment and/or diagnoses, and if your mental health condition is mostly under control, you should be able to receive PD support. You can always discuss your condition more in depth with your coach during your initial consultation call to see if it is something your coach is able to help you navigate around.

In general, if you have conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc. your coach should be able to help. Further, regardless of your condition, if you have it under control and/or are working with a psychological professional to maintain control, you may still get PD support through your coach.

  • Coaching is an unregulated category, so technically no, coaching is not held to the same confidentiality standards as therapy. Coaches do not need to follow HIPAA regulations either - licensed psychological professionals do.

However, with Sapo Wellness your coach is a counselor as well, and prefers to maintain confidentiality guidelines with coaching. Therefore, any information shared will follow confidentiality privileges. This is outlined i. the Informed Consent that you will receive. Further, your coach will do their best to follow HIPAA guidelines when using face-to-face, text, and email communications.

  • Text sessions are 30-minutes in length and phone/video sessions are 50-minutes in length. These can be one-time sessions or recurring based on your need. You are always welcome to mix and match with text and phone/video as well.

  • PD is available via text sessions or phone/video calls. Each text session is $50, phone/video calls are $95. Coaching does not accept any form of insurance, so these are considered self-pay.

If you are a Veteran, Active Duty Servicemember, First Responder, or Teacher, you can receive a 10% discount with valid ID.

  • Payment for each PD session is due in full prior to the session start. Your coach can send you individual invoices or you can submit payment via Venmo at @SapoWellness.

Please note that your session will be delayed if payment is not received by the start time. Delayed sessions will end at their scheduled time.

  • If you are late to a session, it will still end at its usual time. Please try to be on time to maximize our sessions.

If you need to cancel, please alert your coach ahead of time. 24-hours’ notice is best but if something comes up during the day, please be sure to alert your coach no less than 3-hours before your scheduled time. Notifications can be made via text or email. Flexibility is granted as often as able, but your coach has limited availability for sessions so last-minute reschedules may not be possible.

If you fail to alert your coach or are more than 15-minutes late to your session, you are considered a no-show and forfeit your funds paid. If you are a no-show and have not paid for your missed session, you will not be able to schedule another session until your balance is paid.

If you have a true emergency and need to cancel your session, alert your coach ASAP. Any funds paid for the session will be credited towards your next session. Please note that this courtesy does not apply if you fail to alert your coach of your emergency. If emergencies become too frequent, your coach may discuss a new session schedule.

The overarching question: Is coaching legally regulated?

Coaching as a whole is not a legally regulated practice. Therefore, anyone can call themselves a coach and offer services and be totally justified in doing so per the law. A coach is not legally required to hold any certifications, licensure, or any formal training or education to back up their practice. This is why it is important for you, the client, to do your research when working with any coach.

At Sapo Wellness, your coach is not only credentialed; she also walks the walk to serve as a model for her clients. Read more about your coach on the Meet your Coach page.
